Time-Travelling with Nigella Lawson
Director Gregor Nicholas just completed a time-travelling mission to 1954 where he found Nigella Lawson outside a milk bar witnessing the launch of a chocolate bar.
From the 1950s, he went further back in time with Lawson to 1896 to witness the birth of the Whittaker’s chocolate company.
“The story begins in colonial 1896 where we find Nigella on a horse-drawn carriage with the creator of the company James Henry Whittaker, then Lawson guides us in her inimitable way through the decades – noting significant dates in the history of the brand and its never-ending pursuit of perfection. Looking gorgeous throughout, Nigella Lawson is beautifully and authentically costumed in each of the eras.”
“When I first read the script, the visuals were leaping off the page and, for me, it was all about creating a vivid sense of being there,” said Nicholas. “Believing that Nigella has travelled back in time as our guide – going back over a hundred years. Our costume designers and art department did an incredible job making every era look truly authentic. And of course Nigella’s playful performance adds beautiful moments of whimsy throughout the entire journey.”
